I'm Deep Throat. I have a very particular set of skills. No, not that skill, pervert.

Here goes Hollywood again, making underhanded jabs at the President. I just find it funny this movie comes out right when things regarding the FBI and the White House seem to parallel a few key points. Disgraceful, trying to bolster the American public with this movie. But I have to say, I love a good whistle blower movie. We need more whistle blowers in the world. That said, love to see Michael on the screen again.

The man who brought down the white house is quite hyperbolic. They really wanted to peak people's interest with the title i guess. Being a tattle tale isnt bringing down the white house. A revolution would do it but americans are cowards who love their shackles as long as they can still tell people they are free :)

Dialogue from movie "Mark Felt" the story of Deepthroat. Mark Felt: "Mr. Woodward, the story isn't moving. Everyone has stopped listening to you." Woodward: "This isn't the same as before. We are lost in detail." Mark Felt: "That is their plan, they want everyone confused, confusion is control. The truth could ruin the administration." Sound familiar?

I'm struck by how in the first 10 minutes we see FBI's operative director threaten the President's lawyer, top domestic advisor, and his boss, the Attorney General, and everyone associated with the President, with exposure of any secrets they may have, including infidelity to their wives. Certainly most of the Hollywood influencers will have seen this movie and I wonder if they see the parallels in the current issues with the FBI leadership's improper surveillance of political figures and refusal to answer to Congress. It seems that Hoover's FBI exists to this day and that the Bureau is ultimately in control of everything.

Nixon didn't do Watergate. His operatives did, though, and he aided in the coverup.

To begin with, the movie was good. It kept my attention and the acting was on par with what I would expect from the cast. Watch it if you haven't already. That said, there's a lot to argue concerning the veracity/accuracy of the content. Maybe this is part of what makes the movie appealing. It's clearly taken from Mark Felt's attestment so of course it's suspect at best without an outside point of view. You get a good feel for his struggle to resolve his dedication to the FBI and his betrayal to correct the corruption that he was helpless to fix without doing so. The story wasn't accurate, all-encompassing, nor objective but it painted an interesting albeit idealistic picture of the man that made the movie worth watching.

Thanks to Felt that was the deserved end for Tricky Dick, the White House impostor par excellence, what we thought in many ways unsurpassable....well we'll reconsider,I guess. This political conspiracy drama has all the qualities to appreciate the integrity of some individuals in the truly independent FBI helped by dedicated journalists turned detectives who risked their lives at times. All we need is a Deep Throat now to avoid the same shameful mistakes of the past. Good film, even if getting too slow towards the end, with a strong performance by Neeson....but why is he getting so underweight? hope it was all to do with the role......8/10.

Liam gives an excellent performance in this movie for his Role as Felt. As far as the over all Movie I was expecting just a little more to suck me in. Good for a one time watch, but by no means the best movie on this subject matter! 7/10

I lived during this time period and feel it is very accurate. Liam as always did a superb job. The FBI has always been autonomous. No President, department head or agency can order/tell them what to do. They act as check and balance for domestic actions. The CIA performs the same function outside the US. I think Mr. Felt was a truly dedicated man. We may not always agree with their actions but they are necessary to keep our country from becoming a dictatorship.
